Our cottages date back to 1875 but are modern and full of character. Each of them sleeps up to four people. No.1 is slightly larger and has two identical bedrooms with twin beds. No.2 is a little smaller with a spiral staircase and a king-size bed on the mezzanine and a single bed in the tiny adjoining bedroom which is great for someone who doesn’t mind limited privacy.
The two cottages can be made into one house, which we call the Villa. We do this by openning a connecting door on the ground floor. The Villa can accommodate seven people and the group has exclusive use of the whole property, especially the pool.
Each cottage has a small private garden. Plus you have a large communal garden, play area, shady trees and wild garden area.
Located in the Charente Maritime, on the northern edge of Cognac vineyard country with vines everywhere and a riot of sunflowers in June & July, PalmTree Holiday Cottage forms part of a small group of buildings and barns on the edge of a quiet French hamlet called Villotte.
The heated swimming pool, at 12 metres by 6 metres, is one of the largest in the area. It is also one of the safest as it's just 1.2 metres deep throughout, has roman steps and is completely enclosed by fencing and is accessed only through toddler proof self closing gates.
